What We Know
Through the late 1960s and early ’70s, there were few more important and iconic drivers in Japanese motorsports than Tetsu Ikuzawa. A sheer force of will, he worked his way up through the ranks as one of the first Japanese drivers to compete in European motor racing, gaining attention first in Formula 3, then Formula 2, and eventually as a factory race driver in the Porsche endurance racing program, driving everywhere from Le Mans to his home circuit of Suzuka. His story is far more than we could fit in a few hundred words, but his legacy remains massive.
Today, with the help of his daughter Mai Ikuzawa’s fashion and design bonafides, Team Ikuzawa lives on. Now they can add a watch to the brand stable, with the new best UK replica TAG Heuer Carrera watches made with Bamford.
The cheap Swiss fake watches is a traditional non-“Glass Box” Carrera chronograph measuring 42mm by 14.3mm thick, powered by the Heuer Calibre 02 Movement. The 1:1 online copy watches has 100m of water resistance and comes on a stainless steel bracelet. It also has an included fabric strap with red marking “Team Ikuzawa” printed and velcro closure. The real star is the red and white dial, playing off the Team Ikuzawa colorway.
More specifically the dial is “white opaline” and features a flange with red 60-second/minute scale for the top replica watches. Then there are the two printed counters. At three o’clock there’s a white “azuré” minute chronograph counter with a white lacquered hand featuring a red tip. At nine o’clock, there’s a contrasting red “azuré” hour chronograph counter with red lacquered hand and white tip. Yes, there’s a date at six o’clock, but your eye is more quickly drawn to the Team Ikuzawa logo.
The Swiss movements fake watches is limited to 100 numbered pieces, available only in Japanese boutiques and on TAG Heuer’s Japanese online store, so if you want one you better book a flight now. The price is $6,200.
What We Think
I’m not usually one for such boldly co-branded luxury super clone watches with big names and logos on the dial, but this one has my attention.
I think part of that is thanks to Mai Ikuzawa, who I’ve followed for a while on Instagram and looks like one of the coolest and most interesting people I could ever hope to be friends with one day. There’s just something about Japanese classic car culture (So Naito being another must-follow). Look, I’ll say it: sometimes I’m subject to being “influenced.” But the mix of historical racing content, familial ties, and modern streetwear hits all the right points of nostalgia for me.
Maybe it’s the font, but when I saw this release, I also immediately felt like this co-branded watch looked like the old double-signed company “gift” replica watches for men – especially those rare ones given out by newspapers or magazines. It’s simple, clean, and built on a classic design. For fans of racing and, even more so, racing culture and streetwear, this seems like a hit. Judging by how popular Mai and her father are in Japan, I’m guessing these will move quickly, so it’s on to my next question: where can I get one of those awesome jackets?
